So it's no secret that I am no Whovian. But when I first read the news that Jodie Whittaker will be the new Doctor I was really excited. I've been a fan of Jodie Whittaker since the first season of

Broadchurch. Season after season Doctor Who has brought male doctor after male doctor. It is truly refreshing to see that the creators have taken notice to the rise in female empowering characters and have decided to join the times. However, the fragile male Whovians came quickly pouring out waving their misogynistic flags high. I'm not sure if I'm even really surprised. It seems that every time a woman gains some sort of power or lead all these punkboys (yea that's what I'm calling them to not say f*ckboys) come out with their hate.
As if a bunch of internet punkboys claiming that they are going to ban the show is really going to do anything. As a female who has never really been into Doctor Who I'd be willing to give it a try and I'm sure millions of little girls everywhere will be more than enough to replace every punkboy who decides to leave the fandom. I personally think you would be doing the fandom a favor if you did so. What I
truly can't wrap my head around is what makes this an actual issue. The character in the show isn't even human. Is there some sort of Doctor Who unwritten, unknown, written in invisible ink misogynistic rule somewhere? Which one of you punkboys has the key?

Jodie, I hope that you bathe yourself in man tears tonight. I hope you use some of that big Doctor Who money coming your way to bottle up those man tears and drink them every day on set as you get ready to be the best Doctor this show has seen since David Tennant (I asked my whovian friends before making an assumption lol).
