Top Halloween Costume Ideas - 2017

Good day, Fellow Geeks! Bring on the Monster, Magic, and of course tons of candy! My favorite holiday Halloween is finally back again this month :) And with the holiday, always comes another excuse to dress up in costume with everyone else, young and old! I have complied my list of what I deem to be the most popular costumes that we shall see in 2017.

Emojis

Yes, you heard this right. Not really a costume trend for adults, but the little ones will go ga-ga for this! Although the movie they created was just a 90 minute infomercial for iPhone and apple accessories, kids will still want to dress up and interact with other kids as their favorite emojis from their phone (err, the movie). I really wish this wasn’t true. But it would make me giggle to see a dad with a trump mask, holding hands with a group of poo costumes crossing the street.

Wonder Woman

This is not so much of a stretch, given that Wonder Woman has been known by kids at heart for a very long time. This year marks the first solo movie for the Super Heroine of the Amazons (and

probably top 3 favorites of the movies made in the DCU). Although it did not get the promo like Batman V Superman did, she has provided DC comics the momentum to compete with their Marvel counterparts. Not to mention, this is the easiest sell to kids! Who doesn’t love a Female Superhero badass?! The streets will be filled with ladies (and men too, why not!) brandishing the tiara, bracers, and shiny rope this Halloween Season.

Pickle Rick

The show Rick & Morty have been exploding in popularity recently with their return from their hiatus. This show has crossed into mainstream audiences outside of the Cartoon Network scene. The season premiere this year of the show has one of the main characters, Grandpa Rick, turned into a pickle. And with the help of ingenuity and a loosely based homage to Iron Man, constructed a mobile suit for mobility. I cannot make this up. To be honest, I have just started watching Rick & Morty this year...and I’m hooked! So be on the lookup for kids next to their dads as giant robo-phallic objects

IT

This is also not a surprise to most people. I am sorry for anyone, including my girlfriend, that have Coulrophobia because this year will be Hell for you. I know that American Horror Story: Cult

has brought back the fear of clowns as well, but they can’t hold a candle to the terror that is Pennywise The Dancing Clown. He has scared the bajesus of people for over 27 years, and for good reason. For lack of better phrasing, That Motherfucker is creepy! Clowns have always been seen on this holiday, but this year people will forgo the red nose and bicycle horn. Anything Stranger Things

Another reason why I enjoy Halloween this year is because of the New season of Stranger Things! And I now that I am not alone in this either! This has surpassed Orange Is The New Black as the most anticipated NetFlix season to date. And with their most recent trailer, It brings the 80’s pop culture nostalgia people love back to Halloween. Along with Eleven carrying Eggos, and balls of glowing Christmas lights, the biggest group costume I envision seeing this year will be

Ghostbusters. Little known fact, the first costume that I chose myself as a id for treat-or-treating was to be a Ghostbuster. Now my life my life has come full circle! I see myself in the near future rummaging through the thrift stores to look for a beige jumpsuit.

Do you think I’m missing an obvious choice on this list? Who will you be on All-Hallows-Eve? Reach out to us and give us your thoughts. Until next time Geeks!
